Our Vision

A free, sincere, and demanding wine, born from a rare place and a patient gesture. Mas de Bret embraces a handcrafted approach, respectful of life and terroir.

02
Our Mission

To breathe new life into a forgotten valley by cultivating the vine with humility and ambition. To share the quiet richness of the Alpilles through a wine of place, both rooted and vibrant.

03
Our Innovation

At Mas de Bret, innovation means trusting nature. It’s about experimenting with still-rare practices and questioning heritage to anchor it more firmly in our time.

04
Our Commitment

We believe in respecting all living things, in passing down knowledge, and in the value of the right gesture. Being wine artisans also means showing consistency, attentiveness, and responsibility.

A Valley Shaped by Time.

Hannibal is said to have stopped here. The Roman aqueduct still crosses the valley.
The valley takes its name from Notary Bret, enriched by the Beaucaire fair.
In the 17th century, he founded a silk mill in a valley already dedicated to vines. Later, the Hugues family, artists and sculptors, settled there.
Jean-Baptiste Hugues, Prix de Rome laureate, stayed here.
Then came oblivion… and nature reclaiming its place.Demander à ChatGPT

A Meeting, a Neighbor, an Idea

In the 1990s, Jean-Luc Placet and Frédéric Petitbon discovered the Alpilles.Over the course of their encounters, they crossed paths with Éloi Dürrbach.A winemaker from Domaine Trévallon, pioneer of a free and demanding wine, Éloi is a discreet yet major figure in the Provençal wine landscape.A friendship was born. And later, a project. In 2009, Jean-Luc and Frédéric stumbled upon a forgotten valley.A sleeping house. Stone terraces. Silence. The charm worked. They called Éloi:“Can you help us make a garage wine here?”

Éloi Dürrbach’s Impulse

Éloi Dürrbach accepted — out of friendship, but also for the love of a challenge.A blank page, two hectares, terraces facing the light. He envisioned a miniature vineyard, on a human scale. He planted cinsault alongside cabernet sauvignon and syrah.A nod to Trévallon, but in his own way.

What we love is following the rhythm of the vineyard and the cellar — in times of rest as well as in times of transformation. And above all, sharing with our friends the conviviality and excellence of a glass of one of our wines

Review Image

“We had dinner this Friday evening at a lovely restaurant (Edu in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence), and on that occasion, we discovered your wine (Mas de Bret, red, 2020) — we absolutely loved it.”

“We had dinner yesterday in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and tasted your Miracle rosé and your white wine. We were truly charmed. We are from Rennes in Ille-et-Vilaine, and I don’t believe we can find your wine at a wine shop or elsewhere in this region. Could you advise us on how we might purchase a few bottles?”
